[ARCHIVED] Several Updates from the Town Clerk

Election Ballot Box

If you are a voter and did not return the 2025 Annual Street Listing Census

The Town Clerk’s Office has recently mailed a “Voter Confirmation Notice” to all registered voters who have either not returned their Annual Town Census form or who were noted on their census form to have moved but failed to provide a signature.   This is a requirement of MA law to protect the integrity of our Voter List.

If a voter fails to respond to the annual census by the first Tuesday in June, they will be placed on the Inactive Voter List and will be sent a Confirmation Notice, which the voter is asked to sign and return. The Confirmation Notice will confirm that the voter continues to reside at the Hingham address at which they are registered, or confirm that the voter has moved.

If you receive a postcard with the message below, please sign it and return as soon as possible to the Town Clerk’s Office.

How does being an Inactive Voter impact you?

If you are an Inactive Voter, your status will be noted when you check-in at your precinct for the next election. You will be required to complete an Affirmation of Current and Continuous Residence before you can vote. You will also be asked to present a current ID which shows your name and the Hingham address at which you are registered to vote.

The 2025 Street List of Residents have arrived

Many of you have inquired as to the arrival of this favorite resource. These may be obtained in the Clerk’s Office.  The cost is $20 and we accept cash, check or charge. We look forward to seeing you.
