Our hearts go out to the victims of the families of the tragedy that occurred in Uvalde, Texas this past Tuesday. The Select Board and the entire Hingham community share a deep sense of sorrow in the senseless loss of life and we hope for a future in our country where we no longer have to grieve the loss of children and teachers in schools. This type of violence has no place in a civilized and just society.
We also want to reassure parents, students, and school officials that we are working closely with the Hingham Police Department to review safety protocols and procedures within our schools to ensure the safety of all members of the school district.
