On Monday, April 14, 2025, the Hingham Sewer Department will be starting the replacement of the aged sewer force main on Lincoln Street (Rt 3A). This work will be ongoing for approximately four months between Downer Avenue and Shipyard Drive. During the first week we will be working on test pits to determine utility crossings and other possible underground structures to enure their locations.
The town has contracted with Dig It Construction, South Dennis, MA to perform this very important project, and the Engineering Department will be overseeing the entire project along with inspections by our design engineer, Weston & Sampson Engineers.

Changes in traffic patterns and delays should be expected during the day as we will make changes as needed to work safely. The traffic plan has been approved by MassDOT and will include two lanes always open to rush hour traffic.
